10k Intermediate Course

Day: Saturday mornings
Our Intermediate course is for those who can run 5 km, or 35 minutes (without stopping), and who want to work towards running 10 km (which is approximately 60-70 minutes running). This is a progressive 6-week course focused on improving/building your stamina, muscular strength, and cardiovascular fitness. 
This course covers the same topics as in the 5km Beginner course but goes into more depth in instructing the following:
running and breathing techniques
running drills
appropriate stretching
warm up and cool down
optimum nutrition and hydration for running
This course is tailored more to the specific groups needs and progresses from instructing the fundamentals of running to coaching individuals on their techniques.

In Ladywell Fields, the 10km Intermediate Course has for the past few courses been combined with the 10km Performance Course. Those who have already completed the 10km Intermediate Course will be set a more challenging programme than those who are completing the 10km Intermediate Course for the first time.
